North Alabama is centrally located in the Southeastern United States. Surrounded by Georgia, Tennessee and Mississippi, North Alabama is less than a 2 hour drive from Nashville and Birmingham and a 3 hour drive from Atlanta and Memphis.

Half of the U.S. population is within a 500 mile radius, placing North Alabama in close proximity to several major markets. North Alabama features an excellent transportation network void of gridlock. Connections are provided via 3 interstates and numerous 4-lane interstate-quality highways. Many truck freighters serve the area including national carriers.

Norfolk Southern and CSX run 5 main line rail tracks through North Alabama. The Intermodal Center at Huntsville International Airport allows cargo to be transferred to truck or air carriers. Air cargo providers offer 15 international flights per week including service to Asia, Europe and South America. Passenger service is offered out of 2 commercial airports. Combined these airports offer direct flights to 10 major U.S. cities.

Linking the region, the Tennessee River stretches straight across North Alabama providing barge access. Barges on the Tennessee River can reach Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico in only 3.3 days.
